The general outline of the sculpture is derived from the dynamic shape of a wing. The immediate contact of the aggressive, streamlined, shiny body of the sculpture with the heavy flatness of the ground is intended to create a contradiction: Wings belong in the sky. Why is this wing on the ground?
The sculpture is intended to create the feeling that it is alien to its surroundings. It's a wing, but not necessarily of a bird; it could be the wing of an airplane or of some flying machine...
